Every year, October 15th is National Fossil Day. But why limit the fun to just a day? At the Museum, we’re turning it into a month-long celebration of fossils with a Pleistocene Pop-Up exhibit and events!
Our Fossil Frenzy First Friday will showcase paleontologists, geologists, and scientific illustrators with a fossil focus. Bring your mystery fossils and rocks to our fossil identification stations, shop the special seasonal items in the Museum store, enjoy free access to the summer redwoods exhibit, Treasured Trees, an open bar for guests 21+, and food trucks.
This First Friday, we’re partnering with:
- Geologists from UCSC’s Earth and Planetary Sciences
- Certified paleontologists from Pacific Paleontology
- The United States Geological Survey
- Kenneth S. Norris Center for Natural History
- California Film And Cultural Center
- Fossil Illustrators: Mason Schratter, Cady Delay, & Arin Vasquez
