Fossil Week Collections Club: Laura Hecox’s Conchology Collection

October 10 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Event Series (See All)

Celebrate National Fossil Week with the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History!

Born in 1854, lighthouse keeper Laura Hecox was such a fossil fan that they named one after her! As an avid naturalist who spent her life collecting rocks, shells, and fossils around the Santa Cruz Lighthouse, Laura loved sharing her discoveries with the Santa Cruz community. Join the Museum’s Collections Manager for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Laura Hecox’s cabinet to get a never-before-seen look at her personal collections.

Enjoy food, wine, music, in an intimate evening and guided exploration through the remarkable Hecox cabinet. This special reception is free for Club-level Museum Members only and one of the added benefits of Museum Membership.
