Celebrate First Friday this June with the kick-off of Seaweed Summer, a season of ocean-inspired programming exploring the wonders of marine algae and coastal ecosystems.
Dive into the fascinating world of seaweed through hands-on activities, live demonstrations, art, and community partners highlighting the beauty, ecology, and cultural connections of our local coastline. From giant kelp forests to tidepool treasures, discover how seaweed shapes life along the Monterey Bay and beyond.
Our doors are open all day for a free drop-in experience, with evening festivities from 5–8 p.m. featuring food and an open bar. Be sure to check out our kelp-centric Collections Close-Up display, on view for the month of June.
