Celebrate the season with creativity, craft, and sustainable spirit. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the basics of printmaking and design and carve their own natural-history-inspired printing blocks using soft-cut linoleum.
Use your custom stamps to print beautiful, one-of-a-kind tea towels perfect for holiday gifting. You’ll also have the option to create your own sustainable wrapping paper and gift bags, turning your prints into a full eco-friendly gift set. You’ll take your hand-carved block home with you, so you can keep printing long after the workshop ends.
No prior experience required. Participants will have a completed art piece to take home at the conclusion of the workshop. Open to all ages and experience levels. All supplies included.
We’ll keep things cozy with mulled wine, hot cider, and plenty of holiday cheer as we craft together in a festive, relaxed atmosphere.

About the Instructor: Beck Hong – Since joining the team in 2024, Beck has had the pleasure of documenting and sharing the many wonders of the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History. Before settling in Santa Cruz, Beck could be found studying printmaking at SAIC in Chicago, working on film sets in Honolulu, or wandering the Pacific Northwest. Now rooted on California’s central coast, they spend their time making videos at the museum, reading under shady trees, and searching tide pools for nudibranchs.
Accessibility & Info – This program takes place indoors at the Museum. Please note that printmaking involves hand tools and materials that may get messy, so casual attire is recommended. If you have any specific accessibility needs or questions, contact us in advance so we can accommodate you.
