The workshop will begin with an introduction to Hummingbird Sage, exploring its role in local ecosystems, including its relationships with pollinators, moth species, and its ethnobotanical significance. Participants will then be guided step-by-step through drawing the plant, learning approachable techniques to break down its unique shapes and textures. Working from live plant material, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of plant structure by closely observing and even gently deconstructing specimens. The majority of the session will focus on drawing, with time dedicated to adding color using watercolor or colored pencil.
