Salamander Sip & Paint

March 12 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Get hands-on with herpetology and creativity at this paint and sip workshop at the Museum.

Join science illustrator and naturalist Hannah Caisse for an evening of art, learning, and amphibian appreciation. Participants will choose from a selection of 3D printed salamander and herp models and paint their own scientifically inspired creation using acrylic paints. Hannah will guide the process while sharing fun facts about herps, their biology, and why these smooth and scaly creatures are vital to healthy ecosystems. No prior art experience is needed. Each ticket includes a 3D model to paint and take home, all materials, and expert instruction.

About the Instructor: Hannah Caisse is a science illustrator, naturalist, and educator. Her combined background in evolutionary biology and art is an invaluable asset when she creates scientifically accurate and engaging renderings and illustrations. Previous works include publications in paleontology, anthropology, and astronomy, including collaborations with the Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology, Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History, University of California-Santa Cruz, and Dickinson College. When not illustrating or making digital models, Hannah is usually rock climbing or out in nature, seeking anything small and furry or smooth and scaly.
