Don’t miss this special opportunity for Museum Volunteers and Members to take a private, guided tour of pristine birding habitats. Led by local birding experts, explore the wondrous wilderness of the Santa Cruz County Land Trust! The nature preserve’s habitats include sandhills, ponds, and wildflower meadows. Veteran naturalists and nature newbies are sure to be thrilled by the flora and fauna to be discovered.

About the Instructor: Ciara is a PhD candidate in the UCSC Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department. She uses ancient environmental DNA to reconstruct the plant and animal communities of Ice Age Alaska. In her spare time, she is an avid birder and nature lover.
What to Expect:
Participants should be prepared to walk up to 3 miles on mostly compacted sandy terrain.
Wear good walking shoes — no flip flops!
Exact meetup details will be shared upon registration.
