LiMPETS Sandy Beach Monitoring Teacher Workshop

Join us for a hands-on, in-person workshop in partnership with the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History.

This training is required for new participating teachers, grades 6th-12th.

REGISTER

Attendees will:

  • Receive a 5-lesson curriculum aligned with NGSS and Common Core
  • Get hands-on training in Pacific mole crab data collection and analysis → includes a classroom dissection lab and post-field trip reporting
  • Learn the logistics of coordinating a field science program
  • Gain experience using real scientific tools and protocols
  • Receive a $100 stipend upon completion

By participating in LiMPETS, students will:

  • Conduct community science that contributes to a 20+ year coastal data set used by researchers and policymakers
  • Explore coastal habitats, climate change, and human impacts
  • Build a stronger connection to place and learn how to protect local ecosystems
