SUMMARY:Community Beach Cleanup with Save Our Shores
DESCRIPTION:4th of July is always full of fun\, fireworks\, and friends! But our festivities can leave a mess on the beaches and potentially harm marine life. \nSo\, after celebrating the 4th of July\, join the Museum on the 5th of July as we team up with Save Our Shores for a beach cleanup! Give back to your community while showing your love for marine ecosystems as we take to Seabright Beach and scrub it clean of trash. \nAfter the cleanup\, we will weigh the total amount of litter collected! As a thank you\, complimentary guest passes to the Museum will be provided to participating volunteers. \nREGISTER \nRegistration is required and limited to the first 50 volunteers. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. \nAll trash grabbers\, gloves\, bags\, and other materials will be provided by the Museum.

SUMMARY:Earth Day in Oils – Environmental Oil Painting
DESCRIPTION:Let’s go to the beach and learn to paint in oils!\nIn recognition of Earth Day\, learn how to use oil paints in an environmentally friendly\, solvent-free way. This open-air art workshop will teach the techniques necessary to capture environmental perspectives through the creative use of negative space\, layering\, various stroke techniques\, and more. Paint a vibrant\, local seascape while minimizing waste and avoiding harmful chemicals\, whilst getting the depth\, richness and quality for which oil paints are renowned. \nNo prior experience required. Participants will have a completed art piece to take home at the conclusion of the workshop. \nREGISTER\nThis class takes place outside; dress appropriately for the outdoors. Supplies may get messy\, so casual attire is recommended. \nMaterials Fee: All supplies are included in class fee. \nClass Fee: $45 – Museum Members receive a special discounted price applied at checkout. \nInstructor: Victoria Galitzine
