DESCRIPTION:The Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History is thrilled to be partnering with the Sempervirens Fund to offer Jumbo July\, a series highlighting enormous trees\, forest-dwelling giants\, and our collaborative exhibit: Treasured Trees: The Story of Coast Redwoods. \nWhile California might be famous for coast redwoods\, get your passport ready as this Jumbo July lecture takes us overseas to explore the impact of the redwoods across Europe. These majestic trees\, introduced by Victorians\, are often found in public parks and country estates and thrive despite not being native to the region. But how did they get there\, and why?  \nREGISTER\nInstructor: Peggy Edwards – Santa Cruz Chapter\, California Native Plant Society\nClass Size: 60 participants\nMaterials: Light refreshments will be served prior to the start of the program. After the lecture\, there will be an audience engagement game.\nClass Fee: $11 – Museum Members receive a special discounted price applied at checkout.
