DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss this special opportunity for Museum Volunteers and Members to take a private\, guided tour of pristine birding habitats. Led by local birding experts\, explore the wondrous wilderness of the Santa Cruz County Land Trust! The nature preserve’s habitats include sandhills\, ponds\, and wildflower meadows. Veteran naturalists and nature newbies are sure to be thrilled by the flora and fauna to be discovered. \nREGISTER\nAges: 10+; Individuals under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.\nTour Size: 15 Participants\nTour Fee: Free for Museum Members and Volunteers. Must be a Museum Member or Volunteer. \nAbout the Instructor: Ciara is a PhD candidate in the UCSC Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department. She uses ancient environmental DNA to reconstruct the plant and animal communities of Ice Age Alaska. In her spare time\, she is an avid birder and nature lover. \nWhat to Expect:\nParticipants should be prepared to walk up to 3 miles on mostly compacted sandy terrain.\nWear good walking shoes — no flip flops!\nExact meetup details will be shared upon registration.\nSpace is limited. Please only register if you intend to come.\nPlease leave pets at home.\nThere will be no restrooms once the walk gets underway
