DESCRIPTION:Looking for the purr-fect way to spend your Friday night? You otter swing by to celebrate Safari September! \nThe Museum is thrilled to partner with the Cheetah Conservation Fund and Sea Otter Savvy to showcase these marvelous mammals all month long.\n \nJoin us for a hare-raising adventure as wildlife photographers display their images of endangered species and paleo-mammalogists share their cutting-edge discoveries. We will also launch the next installment of our newest Naturalist Night lecture series\, which will feature everything from sea otters and surfers\, to the extinct North American cheetah. But the safari doesn’t stop there! As a special treat\, we’re not kitten when we tell you that the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is bringing baby animals for adoption\, or just to snuggle. We will also have special seasonal items in the Museum store\, free access to the summer redwoods exhibit\, Treasured Trees\, an open bar for guests 21+\, and food trucks. \nThis First Friday we’re partnering with: \n\n\nCheetah Conservation Fund\nSea Otter Savvy\nUCSC Genomics Institute\nKara Capaldo – Author of Ocean Adventures – A Journey with Monterey Bay Friends\nSanta Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation\nLand Trust of Santa Cruz\nUCSC Norris Center for Natural History \nPathways for Wildlife\nMountain Lion Foundation\nSnow Leopard Conservancy\nNature Photographers: Kevin Lohman\, Sarah Killingsworth\, and Jacqueline Deely\nConservation Artists; Michelle McCune & Megan Gnekow\nAnd so many more!\n\nAccessibility:\n\nDrop-by anytime 5-8 p.m. to join the festivities!\nAdmission to the Museum is free all day\, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.\nFollow the latest guidelines for health and safety.\nRestrooms and water fountains are available inside the Museum.\nBooths\, art displays\, and activities will be indoors and outdoors.\nThis series is sponsored by the Cheetah Conservation Fund\n\n\n
